The meeting took place in a constructive and interested atmosphere. It provided an informative exchange of views on the current activities of the Russian Bioethics Committee, discussed the issues of international cooperation in this area and sketched out prospective directions for further work on the development of the bioethics agenda, including at UNESCO. The meeting included a presentation of a large-scale domestic publishing project "Library of Bioethics", headed by A.G.Chuchalin. "The Library" includes textbooks on bioethics, as well as "golden pages" from the heritage of great thinkers and doctors, including Aristotle, Avicenna, Johann Johannson, Voyno-Yasenetsky, E.Botkin, V.Veresaev, N.Pirogov and N.Berdyaev. These publications are addressed to specialists in the field of bioethics, doctors and students of higher educational institutions and are aimed primarily at supporting and developing bioethics education in Russia.
