Members of the Expert Council on Public Health under the IPA CIS discussed theoretical and practical aspects of promoting the principles of bioethics and evidence-based medicine in the CIS. In particular, it was noted that given the improvement of technology, complications of social relations and anthropocentric vector of social development, a broader understanding of bioethics, its role in the doctor-patient relationship, in the development of science and innovative technologies, in making managerial decisions in the field of health and building a modern health care system is needed. Participants of the conference stated that ethical development of medical care in the CIS is associated with the development of modern mechanisms to guarantee its quality and availability, the creation of national evidence base, when the decision to use preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitative measures, palliative care is based on the evidence of their effectiveness and safety. Such general approaches were reflected in the applied reports of the speakers on the treatment of diabetes mellitus, application of transplantology of human organs and tissues, development of the family of international classifications of the World Health Organization (WHO) as the basis of evidence-based medicine. The mechanisms of international cooperation in the field of bioethics and evidence-based medicine were discussed during the meeting, including the cooperation on the fields of Global Medical Scientific Educational and Research Platform (GMSERP).
