On June 30, 2023 Minsk hosted the first international conference in the format of a public expert session “Effectiveness and accessibility of medicines: from technology and evidence base to the patient” on the development of a model law “On drug provision in CIS member states”. The conference was organized by the Secretariat of the Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) together with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the international non-profit organization Eurasian Cooperation for Clinical Guidelines and Public Health Development with the support of the CIS Executive Committee.

The conference was attended by representatives of parliaments, relevant ministries and departments of the CIS member states, national academies of sciences, international organizations, medical organizations, insurance and pharmaceutical companies, patient communities and professional non—profit organizations, as well as members of the Expert Council on Healthcare at the IPA CIS and the International Expert Academic Working Group on the Development of National Evidence Bases in healthcare, bioethics and biosafety of the CIS member states.
