On 13 November 2023, a regular visiting session of the Commission on the Development of Bioethics Principles and Evidence-Based Medicine of the Expert Council on Healthcare at the IPA CIS was organised in Bishkek by ECHD.

The event was opened by Head of the Department of Endocrinology of the Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education Larisa Danilova.

The proposals were considered at the session for the development of model legislation in the field of health protection for the CIS countries on the example of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Public Health and the Health Care System. The experts also discussed the progress of the development of the Model Law on Medical Supplies in the CIS Member Nations.

Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights, Executive Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights Evgenia Vladimirova spoke about prospects of model lawmaking activities in health protection.

Head of the International Academic, Technical and Innovative Cooperation of the Commission on the Development of Bioethics Principles and Evidence-Based Medicine of the Expert Council on Healthcare at the IPA CIS, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vitaly Maltsev presented projects for the Interstate Program for Innovative Cooperation of the CIS Member States for the period up to 2030.

Director of the Eurasian Cooperation for Clinical Guidelines and Public Health Development Sergey Savashinsky acquainted the participants with the roadmap for the implementation of projects to create national evidence bases in the CIS countries for the next two years.

The next session of the Commission on the Development of Bioethics Principles and Evidence-Based Medicine of the Expert Council on Healthcare at the IPA CIS is scheduled in Astana, Kazakhstan, in May 2024.

Also, on 13 November 2023, the second meeting of the International Expert Academic Working Group on Development of National Evidence Base in Public Health, Bioethics and Biosafety of the CIS Member Nations was held in Bishkek.

During the event, Chair of the International Expert Academic Working Group on the Development of National Evidence Bases in Healthcare, Bioethics and Biosafety of CIS Member States, Deputy Chair of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Alexander Kilchevsky made a proposal to address to the CIS Executive Committee, the IPA CIS and the WHO Regional Office for Europe to include representatives of these organizations in the International Expert Academic Working Group.
